Know the answers to these questions:
- Who teaches the self defense class? Unfortunately, most martial arts schools these days are just being taught by the best students in class. Look for certified instructors that not only know what to teach but more importantly, how to teach.
- Is the martial arts instructor or school owner teaching full-time? Teachers who teach full time prove to provide better and higher quality programs because the teacher only has to focus on teaching.
- What is the class size? Know the average number of students per class.
- Is there a promised level upon an x amount of time? There is no instructor who can determine ahead of time how long a student can get a black belt.
- What are the fees? Know if there are extra fees like belt fees, uniform fees and so on. If possible, request for a price sheet so that you will know in advance how much you need to put aside every month as martial arts school fee.
